I feel like it can be a complex and nuanced issue♋. Obviously, there's no accounting for personal preference. Everyone has their deal breakers.
Like, I can't do first-person melee in a game. And really, even in third-person I need some kind of soft-lock at least. People can feel free to make those games, and I don't think games that do tha꧂t are bad - it's just not for me.
I don't necessarily let that get in the way of e꧒xperiencing a good game, it just haཧs to be pretty darned good if it has mechanics that aren't my cup of tea.
For example, I played Cyberpunk 2077; I just didn't do the boxing sidequest. But I'm unlikely to ever buy Fight Night. It may orꦺ may not be a great series, and more power to them, but it's no🌸t something I'm up for.
So if playing as a specific gender is your dealbreaker because it's just not your cup of tea, then ♉that's not something anyone should take issue with.
I think there's merit to providing more options to players, certainly. I can also see how that may complicate development. That is 2 voice actors to hire, 2 performances to c🍒apture, and double any cosmetics.
Weꦓ'll likely always have games with specific characters. But ideally, then, th🐬ere's a wide enough variety of both.

I thought it was a pretty fun game, personally. It oozed Star Wars atmosphere, and in comparison to recent releases like Starfield, Outlaws was at least made by an enthusiastic tea꧑m with a clear goal.
I liked the art direction, and Sabbac was a lot of fun. Entirely anecdotally, I didn't experience many bugs, and nothing that prev♌ented me from beating🌌 the game.
But I 🗹also bought Outlaws with some gift cards. Unfortunately,⛄ I think it was a pretty good mid-tier game that was priced like a "AAA" one. If I had to pay full price, I'd likely still be waiting for it to go on sale.
Outlaws was neither a dumpster fire, nor a masterpiece. I'd pl🐬ay a sequel, (but obviously ✅I won't be holding my breath.)

I'm having fun - I think it's a game with a number of redeeming🐷 qualities. But it's not a $100 game, and I don't think th🍸ere's any getting around that. (I had some gift cards laying around.)
Outlaws could have earned some good will with it's art direction and performances, and it establishes a very good sense of place and at🌺mosphere. In some ways it's the antithesis of a lᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚot of problems people had with Starfield earlier this year.
But it burned a lo♓t of that potential with that predatory pricing. Basically, I support the team that made it, but not the suits that hobbled it.
