See AllWhy Dragon Age: The Veilguard Uses The Term 'Non-Binary'
The reason why characters like Krem and Lev have not been fixated upon by either side of this silly 'culture war' is the same reason the author of this article criticizes them. The writers for those games made the effort to provide a representative character without breaking the immersion of their world building. It shows a🐓 care and concern for both the game itself as well as the player, displaying a genuine desire to add diversity while at the same time making it feel natural.
This is what gamers from all sides have been asking for, or at least those gamers who are being genuine in this discussion. If you want to add diversity that's fine, if you want to add representation that's fine, but you need to do it in a way that feels natural and integrated into the world building and lore of the game. If game writers continually rip the player out of the worl✤d to remind them that it is 'current year' because they either do not care to make an effort or are not talented enough to make it seem natural, then they will continue to receive criticism.
Like A Dragon: Yakuza Is More Enjoyable If You Don't Expect A Faithful Retelling
Honestly, I disagree entirely with the writer's opinion that a beat for beat adaptation would be in any way boring. When it comes to TV and movies, fans constantly ask for faithful adaptations of their favorite books, comics, and games. Often they are ignored and the producers then put out something nobody asked for, essentially their own🌠 fanfiction, to then rightfully face immediate backlash. Then all criticism is classified as hate for whatever reason, and then the next adaptation is butchered after no lessons are learned. Rinse and repeat.
Just look at how amazingly loved the adaptations that respect and stay faithful to their source material are. Peter Jacks🔜on's Lord of the Rings, The Last of Us, Fallout, the list goes on. Very few people want a TV or movie adaptation to break new ground. They want to see ℱbeloved characters come to life from the pages of their favorite books and comics, to see game cutscenes and plots pop up on the big screen.
This adaptation is telling a story about the Yakuza, it's not actually adapting Yakuza, at least so far. I'm going to pow🐟er through it and hope it gets better, but right now it's nothing but disappointing.
I’m Personally Going To Force Game 🎃Companies To Put In All That Stuff You Hate
@Pikacha I'm not angry, and there isn't a single conspiracy ꦛtheory (gaming related or otherwise) that I believe in. In fact most people aren't angry outside of the small sphere of ragebait YouTubers and their followers. And Mike Drucker of course, since this 'article' is nothing but ragebait. It's mostly just disappointment or apathy that's being expressed. Keep on building that non-existent enemy up in your head so you can keep fighting the good fight though.

I know you were trying to be snarky and witty so you could own the capital G gamers or whatever, but you came across as condescending and obno✅xious. Congratulations on sinking down to the same level of all those ragebait YouTubers you were directing this at I guess?
