Losing my progress and reloading saves isn't the kind of nostalgia I had.. Not sure I understand the appeal there. But I never encountered many bugs in the og and when I 🧸did I never really cared.. but I'm about to buy it and pretend like I'm gonna play it anyway🌳. Seems like fun, to pretend I'll have the time or the energy to play this again for the 500th time.
I've played since AC was a brand new thing but as it's gone on I feel like we get further from actual history and into these whitewashed versions with hyperequitable modern values superimposed and it just comes off as fake and false so I don't spend a lot o🍒f time with story. I like this mode if only since I couldn't care less about the options, what I WOULD actually say is rarely ever a choice anyway. (not political. fyi I am a disabled combat Veteran and I hate both party extremists equally.. and passionately.)
The Legend of Zelda for the NES was $49.99 in 1986. After inflation, that woul📖d be $140.05 in 2024. Developmen🐟t was only 1.3 million or 3.7 million in 2024. Game development cost has increased EXPONENTIALLY..
He's absolutely right. And it's the same thing with AI and DEI and layoffs or publisher behavior or developer practices. A good game that is fun will sell because we, myself as someone who spends hundreds a month on games included, could not care less about any of the former if/when the latter is true (quite honestly even when it isn't, I 🤪ju🐼st don't care.). I have my own problems, I don't have the time or energy to find issues within my hobbies.
I have around 600 hours in world and I used flares for every late game fight that troubled me as none of my friends played and I don't think I ever got a single one of these dunce players you mention. I think waiting until you need help in the late game ✃filters most of those ignorant or inexperienced players. If anything the players that responded were too good and the fights were over before I could get into it. I never failed a single hunt due to an sos responder, in fact Ive only failed once or twice ever, mostly due to being overzealous and bringing down extra targets other than what the mostly multi-monster hunts specified.
I'm wondering how old and experienced this author is. Have they ever played games like Eve Online as part of a fleet in major null sec corp battles or even something l♎ike Warhammer Online Fort/City conquests back in its brief period of popularity. I'm wondering what this is being judged against is all.. Or is this a new experience altogether for them?
So they toned down an actual gameplay feature but added an "I'm afraid of pictures of bugs" feature. Great. If you are seriously bothered by pictures of fantasy spiders there's just no hope for you. I'm sorry. A combat Veteran who doesn't like expliไcit violence in war games, that makes sense to me. Being afraid of digital spiders does not. I was afraid of heights so I jumped out of planes as an Airborne Ranger. Turning off pictures of spiders is not going to help your fear, it will only make you so soft that you'll be lucky to survive in the real world at all.
I can't say it♔'s one thing or another. I'm a bit surprised it didn't sell well. I enjoyed it. It wasn't great but it sold the fantasy well. I'm curious how different it would have been with a male lead. It's possible that more guys are fans of this genre and without being sexist I can say for immersion I would have preferred to play a male but it didn't affect my decision to buy or play. A lot of my male friends only make female characters. I prefer to play males for immersion purposes and I think females deserve the same opportunity but IDK if that's it. Like I said, it would be interesting to know for sure.
So this is just more of the same? If I need a support ch🐓aracter and I can't choose what I w🙈ant to say. I have to choose what gives me the best support character. I've led people in combat, you don't need to worry about your brothers not supporting you because you didn't agree with them when you were out drinking. These are not realistic dynamics, especially if the "fate of the world" is at stake.
I didn't care what people said about it. I bought it and ꦕwas going to regardless. I won't regret the way I saw it because I like it. It's repetitive and very childish but it's also vast and interesting to explore. I don't care what the critics say or the naysayers or the fanboys and THATS what we need. Not different views, not stopping people from having opinions, what most people no longer do anymore is trust themselves to form their own opinion. No one can. "Iꦛm a journalist so I'm against the conservatives that bashed it. Well I'm a conservative and that means if conservatives don't like it neither do I. Well I think developers work really hard so everything is amazing because of the effort.." blah blah blah. Think for yourselves. Form your own opinions. Ignore everyone else's. No opinion ever affected my enjoyment of a game outside of my own.

Just replac🍌e them with AI. Please. I can't listen to another "actor" prattle on about how important they are to every project they touch💎.
