I don't see how it's predatory at all. If you don't want to spend money just, like, don't? And saying children are the ones being targeted, it falls on the parents to say "no". My kids play the game with me and we'𝔉ve collectively spent 0 dollars. We've had it since day 1 and enjoy it without dumping money into it. Not sure what the authors issue is here.
