If You're Excited About Finding Secrets In Doom: The Dark Ages, I've Got Some Bad News
Nah, the more secrets the merrier.

E🅘ternal automatically shows you where everything is with an upgrade. With The Dark Ages, you have to 🐷be somewhat closer.
Although, The Dark Ages seems to automatically have the bigger radar upgrade from Eternal, as well as the one showing you wha🐼t type of secret it is, which is nice as a quality of life bonus.
Similar to how some upgrades from 2016 (the double jump, for examp✅le), are given to you by default in Eternal.

As someone who likessecrets, The Dark Ages does hide them much better than Eternal, especially with Eternal's upgrades that reveal exactly where each secret is (besides the ones that don't con💙tr🦄ibute to the % score).
And, w✤hile I didn't grow up with the DOOM games, I did grow up with the Skylanders games, which did have its own fair share of secrets.
It even had titanic൩-sized mech sections, of which The 🐟Dark Ages definitely improves upon, especially since it's not on rails.
So, don't let the other comments get you down, DOO꧋M The Dark Agꦅes is a pretty good game, and is looking like it could now be my favourite DOOM game (plus, there's upcoming DLC to look forward to...)

DOOM Eternal points out exactly where the secrets are on the mini-map once you aqu🅰ire a Suit upgrade.

I'm really confused, compared to Eternal (which features upgrades telling you exactly where the secrets are),🌊 The Dark Ages (and to some extent, 2016) does a much better job at hiding secre🉐ts.
I had to watch some videos to figure out hoꦍw to unlock specific areas... in the second level... Eternal onl🐓y made me do this when I had eventually gotten to the level where you aquire the Slayer's Crucible.
I even had to restart the level to collecꦉt some ob♍scure gold I missed.
Interestingly, the encounter where you aquire the Plasma Rifle hಞas an additional two waves, which proved to be pretty challenging. So, replaying levels gives you additional ene🍸my encounters, which is quite interesting.
Plus, from other streams and playthroughs I've seen of the gไame, others are having a harder time finding every secret.꧙..
Besides secrets, the amount of difficulty options ad challenges would also add to the game's rep♑layability.
