Nah, the more secrets the merrier.

Eternal automatically shows you where everything is with an upgrജade. With The Dark Ages, you have to be somewhat closer.
Although, The Dark Ages seems to automatically have the bigger radar upgrade from Eternal, as well as the one showing꧒ you what type of secret it is, which is nice as a quality of life bonus.
S꧋imilar to how some upgrades from 2016 (the double jump, for ex෴ample), are given to you by default in Eternal.

As someone who likessecrets, The Dark Ages does hide them much better than Eternal, especially with🃏 🥃Eternal's upgrades that reveal exactly where each secret is (besides the ones that don't contribute to the % score).
And, while I didn't grow up with the DOOM games, I did grow up ꦰwith the Skylanders games, which did have its own fair share of secrets.
It even had titanic-sized mech sections, of which The Dark Ages definitely improves upon, especially since it's not on rail💙s.
So, don't let the other comment🌜s get you down, DOOM The Dark 𒐪Ages is a pretty good game, and is looking like it could now be my favourite DOOM game (plus, there's upcoming DLC to look forward to...)

DOOM Eternal points out exactly wher𝔉e the secrets are on the mini-m🌃ap once you aquire a Suit upgrade.

I'm really confused, compared to Eternal (which features upgrades telling you exactly w𓄧here the secrets are), The Dark Ages (and to some extent, 2016) does a much better job at hiding secrets.
I had to watch some v♔ideos to figure out how to unlock specific areas... in the second level... Eternal oജnly made me do this when I had eventually gotten to the level where you aquire the Slayer's Crucible.
I even had to restart the level to collect꧅ sജome obscure gold I missed.
Interestingly, the encounter where you aquire the Plasma Rifle has an additional two waves, which proved to be pretty challenging. So, replaying level⛎s gives you additional enemy encounters, which is quite interesting.
Plus, from other streams and playthroughs I've seen of the game, ot🎶hers are having a harder time finding every secret...
Besides secrets, the amount of difficulty 🌟options ad challenge🐲s would also add to the game's replayability.
