EA had a whole patent registered (US20150224399A1) for this whole "choices made in previous game affect the world st🌱ate of future games" thing that specifically mentions Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

It's not like people are making up𒁃 things, that's Bioware's whole schtick.

I admit I haven't played any Bioware games except a couple hours of DAI, but I know that what made these games stand out for so✨ long is how your choices ca🉐rry over.

It's been 10 years since DAI, and the gaming landscape has changed so much. Maybe they 𒈔could've gotten away with it then because there was only a handful of RPG. Not anymore. There isn't any incentive to play this one now, at full price, when there is so m🎶any other RPGs just like it. It doesn't have anything special anymore.

From all I read, their excuse for doing so doesn't hold up. Many decisions made in previous games affect returning characters, and others should still influence the world even if it's far🔯 away.

It feels to me like they wanted to make a soft reboot, not to alienate potential new players, but hadꦜ already committed to the Solas plot.

Wanting to make the game more accessible to new players is never a bad thing, especi꧋ally when your previous games are so old. But it shouldn't be done at the expense of existing fans. Pluꩲs, Bioware have no ones but themselves to blame for the long delay.
