EA had a whole patent registered (US20150224399A1) for this whole "choices made in previous game affect the world state of future🔥 games" thing 𒉰that specifically mentions Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

I admit I haven't played any Bioware games except a couple hours of DAI, but I know that what made these games🍷 stand out for so long is how your choices carry over.

It's been 10 years since DAI, and the gaming landscape has changed so much. Maybe they could've gotten away with it then because there was only a handful of RPG. Not anymore. There isn't any incentive to play this one now, at full pꦰrice, when there is so many other RPGs just like it. It doesn't have anything special any꧂more.

♌From all I read, their excuse for doing so doesn't hold up. Many decisions made in previous games affect returning characters, and others should still influence the world even if it's far away.

It feels to me like t꧒hey wanted to make a soft reboot, not to alienate potential new players, but had already committed to the Solas plot.

Wanting to make the game more accessible to꧒ new players is never a bad thing, especially when your previous games are so old. But it shouldn't 💎be done at the expense of existing fans. Plus, Bioware have no ones but themselves to blame for the long delay.
