Kind of an epic fail that probably the best Metroidvania game to come out since Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (the first metroidvania game) is not even mentioned. Bloodstained: Ritual of the night was developed by Japenese indie studio ArtPlay and is a very well crafted homage to CSotN. Smooth controls, well designed enemies, tons of secrets, weapons and armor to find and the cry𒀰stal shard system to add dozens of abilities that can tailor your experience make it a worthwhile successor to the original.
