We're backseat for a reason, because we're not the main character this time, and that's OK. As far as the stakes being too low for the﷽ first half -- this is a competition between family over the throne of a country. The entire point of it is for Wuk Lamat and the others to learn about their people and find ways to work together for the good of their people. The stakes do rise later, the decision for who claims the throne do🐈es throw things into a tailspin.
