Did you play any of the other dragon age games? DAO has the best writing out of the series. DAV's combat system is it's best component. The writing was poor in the latest game. The characters back stories and themselves were bland. The way the wrote Taaash seemed to be virtue signaling. They focused too much on their gender identity, not enough on their other aspects. The struggle of being quanari and rivani. Not to mention they seem to be written as neurodivergent on top of it all. It was all to much and to little at the same time. They have written LGBTQ+ characters much better in the past. I don't necessarily blame the writer, I think bioware just didn't care about quality. They fired and made other writers leave during the TEN years the game was being written and the game shows it. I loved Tassh's banter and dragon fascination. The game ove𒐪rall just could have been so much better. I do agree with you that some of the hate is from the Maga community but not all of it, I'm just disappointed in the game overall.
