I came into the Yakuza series with Like a Dragon. I'm also a huge turn based jrpg fan. I hadn't played any of the others because that wasn't my style of combat. That being said LAD shocked me with how much I loved it. So much so I pre-ordered IW and binged it. I love botꦫh of those games. I went to go back and give the others a try but none of them are dubbed and didn't feel l💖ike reading all the dialog (I know, hypocritical of a guy who loves turning based jrpgs). So give it a run through. No need to play all the others unless you want their history. You can dive in to IW without playing LAD and not be completely lost.
