It's not really a server wipe but part of the game mechanic. Think of it as a compromise between the perminent MMO worlds and Fortnight instances. You essentially move between dimensions instead of time. The wipe is the merge of the two worlds in which you're actually 🧸given a quest to find "fragments" of your old existance and re♔claim your XP.
