Played botw on cemu with all tue goodies on a beefed up PC. Is my computer worth $1500 yesteryear? Perhaps.. but on of the many perks to owning one. Played it with infinite stamina and durability for weapons. All time favorite game and it looked stunning. Guaranteed better than what S2 can put out. Let's not pretend Nintendo is the end all be all. They've been behind the curve every generation. Morons at the top should be fired. Theꦍir games are some of the best ever but the company is run poorly to say the least. Starting with the n64, they went with expensive cartridges with 64mb capacity when cd roms were readily available with 10x more storage. Fail #1. The they the gamecube with mini dvds.. the only console that generation that didnt have multimedia capability and online gameplay was an afterthought. They did some things right with the wii but ultimately gimmicky and underpowered. The wii u was a fantastic failure. I owned one and enjoyed it but dang.. what a disappointment. The switch.. not much i can say other than a lot of the games were ports from the wii u with a full price sticker and not much else (mario kart 8). Nintendo d💧oesn't have a permanent store front where all games are available. They have to port last gen games and compared to steam, MS and sony storefronts it's not even a comparison. Games are going digital and in nintendo fashion they're lagging behind. They don't offer cloud play or universal store front like the competition does. No media playback from streaming services etc. It's a mess. The only thing saving nintendo is the public's ignorance. The steam deck has been out for 4 years now and has been able able to play botw flawlessly with updated visuals. That and the fact that it can emulate switch games and everything before it, it's a no brainer. If you want nintendo exclusives you'll pay a premium. Mario Kart World will still be $70+ in 5 years whereas ps5 ports can be had and played on the deck for less than half that. Hard pass.

What they could do... Is release it with an arm chip as that's on the rise. Even steam os is positioning itself to support it. Make it an android base with ꦿretro esque graphics since arm has a long way to go. Give it access to steam etc. all digital and make exclusive games for it. That's one avenue.
