Absolutely spot on haha. It's a fun game, great combat, but the whole culture war is as unhinged as flat earth and almost entirely imaginary. BG3, v𝓰eilguard, ac shadows, any game that dares to have anything g꧂ay or black is suddenly "woke", doomed to fail.. Except when they're a huge success, then they immediately move on. If it's stellar suddenly the crowd imagines a war against it when nobody cares except Bible bashers.

I just can't imagine living like that and actually caring about this crap, it's just the craziest🐻 corners of the internet being really loud. Puritans bible weirdos, edgelord incels, corporate bigshots & conspiracy nutters are all in the same party under the orange man now and it's 🍸surreal

I played the original in 4th grade in the late 90s, definitely iconic as crap but the remakes ar𝓡e great, it's interesting hearing your perspective on it. The meta elements are fun for return🌳ing players but it's also 95% of the original remade.

If you do get a💜round to the originals (can just play the roms on your phone) skip 8, it's crap. 9 is really good, not quite 7 but good. 10 is iconic and still looks great, 12 has the most ambitious combat, worldbuilding andꦬ I love it but it has an abrupt ending. 6 is iconic too but might be too old for your tastes.
