" Yes that is completely fine and makes for great story telling tool, Take Witcher 3 or Blade runner 2049 as examples, it's literally what they do, they put you in the shoes of characters who are no longer 💃the main saviour but act as the guides and mentor to the main character who's eventually going to save the world
