I think the biggest issue with this "nonbinary" character is first and foremost the fact that that's all the character really is. The devs say that they're subtle about inclusion in representation🃏 or whatever but this character was literally marketed to be "the first nonbinary character ever please clap" before we knew anything about her personality or story.

And yeah this character is very immersion breaking. She doesn't look nor present like any other npc in the game. Not in a conformity sense but in a literal "I stand out like a venomous insect" way. Not only that but she is an aggressive stereotype. The short unnatural colored hair, the tattoos, the ungenuine and unearned smugness in her promotional art. Literally looks like someone's OC got slapped into the game after winning a contest. What's more, literally every single "nonbinary" character looks like this and has the same disposition/ ball park of personality traits. I know everything I need to about this character. Overly quirky and confident. Tries too hard to be endearing (both in universe and in the writing). It's like game studios are oblig🍨ated at gun point by HR to include this one character but in their own style. It's not even an archetype anymore it's like one specific character media hopping from universe to universe. It's boring, its tired, and boarderline offensive.

Its like if there were no black people in the game so they decided to create a redguard sword singer but he only uses shanks, makes up quirky little raps sprinkled throughout his dialogue, and has that awful killmonger haircut every studio uses cuz t♉heit think thats th🌱e only way black people style their hair.

This companion looks like she spends all her time on 🌌twitter being offended on behalf of the khajiit who get micro aggressed upon when other high elves ask to pet their fur or something. Ask any ai to generate a nonbinay looking elf and this is what you would get. Im surprised she didn't come with a septum piercing.

Right? This character was literally marke🎉ted as the first nonbinary character and then people get mad when it's pointed out that that's a really shallow sell that plenty of other game studios have tried to get off with.
