There is nothing fancy about the rules with creatures that can block multiple creatures. You declare which creatures that creature is going block. You play whatever combat tricks you want to play. Then d🔜amage is assigned. You just aren’t allowed t🌸o play combat tricks after gaining information about block order which would usually tell you how damage is going to be assigned.

likewise, don’t think banding is affܫected much here. If you block with a band, you still get to decide how the attacker assigns damage.

Literally all that has changed is that the attacker no longer orders blockers any more so there is no longer an opportunity to resp꧃ond and manipulate tꦬhe combat in response to that ordering.

It’s not. MTG’s combat heavily favors the one being attacked. This change pushes the balance slightly closer towards balance. The defending player still has an advantage but it is a little harder t💝o save creatures that you choose to block with now.
