Long time fan here, too, although I have yet to play shadows. Full disclosure- I'm definitely more a fan of the "old school" AC games, and think the series peaked with AC3, Black Flag, and maybe even Rogue. Wouldn't want to see them do away with the sync points, as they work well within the games' formula, but wouldn't mind seeing some small changes. I really dug how Mad Max did it's "sync points" with the hot air balloons, as you still got a sweeping view of the region, but the only things highlighted on your map would be those that you looked at with your binoculars while up in the air. And definitely wouldn't want them taking the sync points out completely, as climbing and jumping off of tall things is kinda one of the original selling points o🌄f the AC franchiꦰse.
