Dragon Age: The Veilguard Hit With "Anti-Woke" Rev𝓰iew Bombing
Most♌ of the criticism ive seen is ov🌳er how fake the dialogue feels
I heard one🏅 person say it feels like it was passed over by a therapist to make sure it was all emotionally intelligent. Thats a great description i think
It doesnt feel real and takes you out o💫f it, it keeps me from being invested in the narrative
The games ok though, its inܫ that category of media where if this type of game is your favorite thing, youll like it even if its not the best iteration of that ever done. I dont think itll create new fans for the genre but its something for existing fans to ch꧋ew on
Also, its important to criticise things that are implemented poorly. Or they wont improve. Anything immune to crticism is a problem. And 90 percent of the criticism of messaging in media ive seen is on thꦕe implementation, not its existance. I just rewatched arcane🌌 and the new season of vox machina
Nothing about those shows can be described as clunky. Articles like this misrepresent 🔯how much of the criticism is fair and paint the majority as disingenuous
Rather than the 90/10 split i see, they try to paint it as 10/90 healthy to unhealthy. Come on guys, thats not fair. Youre being very rude to alot of pe♑ople with genuine critiques that if listened to, could help improve the implementation of those messages in the future
I agree, anyone saying repersentation is bad is ouℱt to lunch. Writers personal views and feelings are the foundation of creativity and will be present in their work. But they dont get a pass when they do a poor job on the execution. And should be held accountable, like anyone else would be, for mistakes in their profession
