I agree with your main point of taking it slow a✃nd hone⛎stly it's a decent take on the game.

However, one point I disagree on is that it's designed to make you want to spend money. I think the developers have done a great job at making micro 𓄧transactions unnecessary while ♚still available. No pop ups, no constant notifications to buy things, it just lets you play.

In my head any mobil꧋e game should aim to keep play time low, which this game does. If I use your♐ anecdotes as an example, you could focus more on people or Veilguard if it must be games.

I think the main focus of this game is it's ability to bring people into the world of Pokemon TCG without having to spend any money at all. Also as a kid I could never play since literally no one else in my town cared about such ဣthings, so I truly love that it exists.
