Of course it's still relevant; nothing loses its charm with fans just because a title was published a long time ago. The Lord of the Rings was written in the 1930s and 1940s, and still has a healthy fanbase today. The time in which something is written and published doesn't matter. Phantasy Star IV was "the" game that got me into gaming in the first place, and the one that triggered my love of JRPGs to boot. Do we need a Phantasy Star V, though? Not really. The saga came to a ༒close with IV. Would I like to see something done with it though? Yes. It could easily be made into an anime series (or graphic novels like the Legacy of Kain series is getting), or get a full and detailed remaster with an overhaul that includes the omitted content, along with plot details that were never explained, such as: Zio's origins, how he came to become so hateful, how he came into contact with Dark Force, and how he got to Motavia if he was from elsewhere (could he have been a corrupted Esper? For example); how did Rune get to Motavia, how did he and Alys meet and what was their relationship like (in the story it's hinted at that it might have been romantic or at least intimate in some way), and how does his connection to Lutz actually work? Is Alys connected to Alis Landale in some way? Where did the Profound Darkness come from (I read a few things about its origins in PSO, but I don't know if that's supposed to tie into the original series' canon). I'd love to see all of that explained. However, I don't know that SEGA would get it right or if they'd even care to elaborate on it at this point. They seem to have renewed the trademark for Skies of Arcadia this year; the same year the Switch 2 is arriving - which will be including Gamecube games), and we've been hoping for a remaster or port of that for so many years already. I won't hold out hope for anything more on Phantasy Star IV, but I'd be interested if something did happen with it.

I've just recently started the remaster of this, and noticed༒ that after upgrading to the second set of gear before the fight with Chester in the Illburns Ruins, I'm no longer getting the option to change the difficulty level. I'm guessing this is a bug? Personally I'm not keen on changing the difficulty if I can he𒉰lp it, as I like a challenge, but the fact this has stopped appearing (and it's still not there in the lava zone - I got caught by all those scarab type beetles that swarm on you).
