I think physical is the only thing standing in the way of your average consumer copinꦛg that game for free. Once physical dies so will the gaming counsel. I think if Playstation stops physical there future hardware will lose desirability with a lot of people. Most people will transition to p.c and Sonys roll in gaming would be more of a subscription based service like steam or xbox game pass.....that and game development.
