lol I played this game 4 years ago on modern hardware and didn't have to install anything to get it to run. Didn't even know there was a 4GB patch available for it. Didn't notice the memory leak issue either, but I never played it for more than 2 hours at a time. but often times with old games this is just how it is? it sucks, but that's how it goes. After Battlefield 3's AI mod came out, I had to hex-edit the exe file to get the game to run at all in order to try it. the fixes on reddit really don't seem that out of line with most fixes for old games. Turn graphics down to medium, use windowed mode, force DX9 in the launch option൲s, etc."the xbox version works fine" is a cop-out when the series x is emulating it and ch🎃anging hardware settings to make it run fine. I won't say "stick to consoles"; or "stick to your mac", but you really should at least *try* in future.
