Exactly this. This isn't an example of woke. These people aren't interested in pushing back against the ACTUAL problem. These people are simply using the existing pushback as a thinly veiled excuse to let out their true feelings toward women. Women in leading roles has NEVER. and i mean, NEVER. Been the problem. Ellen Ripley? Sarah Connor? Trinity. Lara Croft. Samus. And many more, have existed for decades upon decades with zero issue. Ripley in particular being my favorite fictional character of all time. The problem is not women. It is the SHOEHORNING of females into preexisting male roles. It is the exaggeration of female ability and strength when fighting males double their size and weight. 🥃It's the ridiculous mary sue-ifying of every female character in media, while the male characters are purposefully dumbed down and vilified. This? Is not that. The problem is NOT women inherently. And if you think it is, you're not welcome in the fight that actually needs to be fought. You're not part of anything we stand for. You're just embarrassing. And you're giving those of us with genuinely good and sensible viewpoints and arguments, a bad name.
"I Never Wrote That Adult Women Can't Go Through Them": The Witcher Creator Addresses Ciri Backlash
There is ABSOLUTELY a place in the world for pushing back against woke stuff. Its important. But this isn't it. This isn't that. That's not what's happening here. This is just people using that particulsr important argument, as a thinly veiled excuse to be straight up sexist. It gives those of us who really do have a point and a genuine well-intentioned argument against woke culture, a BAD NAME. I understand that some of the backlash likely stems from frustration at the double standards and inconsistent values that have come out of certain modern versions of old and meaningful movements. People are angry that male characters are vilified and dumbed down more and more, and are tired of them playing thꦫe usual suspect seedy, creepy, sexist villains in media in contrast to the usually PERFECT and angelic and infallible mary-sue femal♏e characters. But... lets be honest here. Most of the people doing this are just using that conversation as an excuse to let out their true feelings about women on a whole, under the guise of caring about a justified mindset. You don't care about the fight. You just hate women. That's never been what any of this is about. Ever. This isn't even about women at all. Not inherently, intrinsically.
Nobody complained about playing as ciri in witcher 3, but NOW its woke? What? She's even better looking in this trailer than she ever was in TW3. Stop giving us a bad name. This isn't the game to push back against. There are PLENTY of those. The new dragon age is an example of the right target. This is not. Thesꦗe people are NOT part of any sort of sensible push back. They're exactly what they seem like. Opportunistic sexists that can't tolerate seeing a woman in a leading role. They existed back when witcher 3 came out, too, but didn't quite have their excuse to cry back then. Now they do. These folk make me ashamed to be part of the anti-woke mindset. This ain't it folks. It's not an excuse to just be awful. If you can't see a great a
