Sure the GTA series does often allow for recurring roles, Lazlow specifically comes to mind as a character that prevalently exists throughout tꦯhe series. There are many others sure... that said, cameos by main characters are extremely rare, and Trevor already dies in one of the optional GTA5 endings. Making him die in an opening scene for GTA6 makes that canon and invalidates the optional endin꧅g you have in GTA5. Additionally, Trevor is fan favourite character from GTA5, it would be a big disservice to his character IMO.

I think the only way you can appropriatඣely bring Trevor back in the series, is with a prequel, and he's obviously not going to die in a prequel.
