Ju🦩st got the game on sale on Steam and am really put off by whatever is going on with her face. I do think it might be a technical issue, but I'd have expected it to be fixed by now. When I saw stills from the game I thought she looked fine, kind of like a knockoff Sigourney Weaver, but in motion it's not even that she's "ugly," it's that she doesn't quite look human. It's in the uncanny valley and it also doesn't stay consistent from scene to scene, which gives her the impression of being some kind of alien that can't hold the mask on. I am a girl so it's not about "gooning," it's the extreme weirdness of her animation. I w♈ish we could dial back the technical "advances" about 10 years, I think they've gone too far and instead of having reasonably consistent animation that looks realistic in the world of what's around it, they're trying for hyperrealism and giving us a nightmare of textures.
