The real problem is as you said. Yu-Gi-Oh sells more, magic the gathering has more players, yet no one obsesses like they do when Pokémon do there thing. There in lies the problem. No one does it or has been doing it like or for a long as: Pokémon. Sure the series and it's cards are new but look at the time line. Evee is one of the original 151. What they need to do is lower the value of these new remakes of classic Pokémon and instead let them lend greater value to classic Pokémon cards. I mean ones some kid, now am old man pull from a booster pack mid 1997 and kept in condition since. Think about it. If Pokémon are animal like cr♛eatures. There born, they fight, they can "die". Ones "born" in 1997(1st time pulled from boosters) they'd be older, wiser even than the same Pokémon "born" today 2025. Only through them could Evee's different evolutions be created and/or discovered. Stores don't sell those same cards form late 90s early 2000s and the new cards full potential value could only be reached in set with the "ancestor" cards of that Pokémon. Solves reason for the commission of said crimes and lends proper consideration to long time enthusiasts and collectors.
