Gamestop is full of shady practices. Selling open and pre-owned games as "new", refusing to sell items unless you purchase a bundle ꦅof undesirable items (they did this company wide with PS5 for years and there are reports of locations doing the same with the Switch 2 pre-orders), and even removing DLC inserts from games sold as new (I've fallen victim to all of the🐈se scams).

I was able to preorder Switch 2 through another retailer (Target) online a day earlier and in doing so was able to purchase it at effectively a 10% discount (by using gift cards purchased at a discount, which Target does a couple times a year), and I'm glad I didn't give Gamestop a dime. The ONLY downside for me is that I will have to wait for it to be delivered on release day rather than having it at midnight the day of, however it's well wor⛦th the wait for the discount alone, and I'd gladly wait weeks longer just to avoid Gamestop. I will never give that company another dime of my money.
