The Acolyte Is Proof That𝓡 Star Wars Needs Fewer Fans At The Helm
There is a difference betw𓃲een being too referential and writing to the world building that has already been established. Headlan✨d chose to write for a pre-existing universe that has it's own history and rules that bind the characters in what choices they can make.
B♉ringing characters into a story a century before they were born is a mistake--not a big one, but a mistake--and it's rightly labeled as one. This is not a hill I would die on, nor should anyone else when there are far greater battles to fight over the logic that holds the narrative together.
What about the single oil lamp that accidentally sets a mountain of stone and steel ablaze? How about Mae changing her primary desire multiple times in the same episode, sometimes with no explanation? A supposed Sith who can take 6 Jedi single handed, but can't fight bugs? Witches tu🍬rning into Dementors from Harry Potter? A throng of mind controlling witches comically keeling over dead from...something a ꧙single Jedi did that was never explained? Shooting at Jedi with a bow and arrow? The complete collapse of time consistency in the show? Sol magically knowing that Osha was taken by Mae's master, something he couldn't know unless he read the script?
On and on and on.
