I remember being at a writer's conference about two decades past and the question of why and who do we write for came up. It got rather heated to be honest, the most successful writers no matter their medium stated that you can write𝔉 for yourself but one day the fans might not like your work or you can write to please fans but critics may not like your work. In the end we agreed that fans (readers) are key to any writer's o🍷verall success.
