Forget Assassin's Creed Shadows, I'm Waiting For Ghost Of Yotei
Having recently completed AC Shadows, I ღhave to agree that the 📖promise of a more exciting prospect is a realistic premise.
I was underwhelmed by Shadows, don't get me wrong it is a beautiful world which is designed to stunning perfection but I found the story a♔nd gameplay very disjointed, even though it is an open world adventure, the story needs a natural flow to help players progress through the game and this was completely absent, missions often revolve around assassinating some random target anywhere on the map with no explanation or order as to why, I often found myself assassinating a mission target by accident without actually starting their story arc so had no idea what they were about until much later on.
The idea of invading castles and killing a 🐈set number of samurai became very tiresome after about the 6th / 7th castle and there was loads in each region.
I liked the separate story arcs between Naoe and Yasuke but outside of this their mandatory character missions within the game became very frustrating e.g. You invade a castle as Naoe to ninja everyone only to find a flag hidden behind an immovable object only Yasuke can move but you can't switch to him in the moment because it's a danger area so you have to complete everything you can, run outside to a safe zone, change over to Yasuke and then run back into the already completed castle just to grab a banner to cꦫomplete a mission?? This happened a lot and got very boring.
I just feel that Ubisoft is slapping the same old gaming model on every title and are just tweeking the edges and changing the setting, other thᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚan that, Origins (which IMO is where AC peaked), Odyssey, Valhalla & Shadows are all exactly the same game. You get a main protagonist who gets wronged who then gets a set number of hidden evil pe♈ople to kill to avenge their past across multiple regions in a specific part of the world. It's getting very old and very boring. Even Avatar felt like Farcry does Pandora.
