Magic: The Gathering's Mark Rosewater On Memes, Tropes, And Where Karlov Manor Went Wrong
When I fiཧrst started playing Magic, we had gigantic fanciful beasts and wurms, firebreathing dragons and demons with Unholy Strengths. Now we have fieldmice and rabbits, Holy Cows and Hot Wheels. There has got to be a line somewhere between "appealing to a new audience" and "SpongeBob is Standard legal".
