If Black Myth: Wukong Isn't Nominated For GOTY, Fans Are Gonna Be Insufferable
I've never claimed Wuk🍨ong does deserve GOTY. All I know is that it DEFINITELY should be in the conversation for GOTY. The fact that it wasn't even in the nominees when games like Dragon Age Veilgard are, is an absolute joke. Most criticism of the game was "grab🌱bing at straws" e.g.
"there is only one weapon" which got boring after a while, having a "simple" attack system and battles which apparently "weren't engaging after a while" (highly, highly debatable, I found the combat simple yet addictive), and not having enough female charactersWhat is strange about these criticisms is that the game was certainly not void of flaws. The hit boxes on🎃 some of the bosses (e.g. son of stones and hundred-eyed daoist) were atrocious. Some of the boss-battle arenas were also badly designed (e.g. Yellow Loong).
But almost all of the criticism of the game were either subjective preference or just plain wrong e.g. "there was a severe shortage of wom🍨en in the game" - like did you play chapter 4? What, does DEI now mean that every chapter has to feature one woman in it? If your criticisms of the game make people question if you even played the, and instead made up your own random criticisms, then it does give people the sense that there is an ulterior motive.
Stop judging games based on politics. Gaming is not about "how to swing the tides of pol🎃itics". It's also not about " lets appeal exclusiv🎃ely to 20% of the gaming population that is LGBTQIA+, feminists etc. etc.". 99% of gamers just want to escape the day-to-day grind and play a fun, well made, immersive game.
