Things Would All Be Different If Mass Effect And Dra♛gon Age Switched Places
I disagree that it failed because of its "message." All of these games pushed for inclusion and recognition in some way, and weren't afraid to tackle big issues, they just had good writing to back it up. In those older worlds, like the real world, plenty of different people exist; gender expressions, sexualities, races, 🥀religions, political leanings etc. The events and conversations relating to these modern-day topics however, felt natural and well written in the way they were stated and explored.
The only problem with this new one was they couldn't write. The decisions, dialogue, story, interactions, it all felt like low-budget marvel movie schlop with no real t🙈hought or passion behind it. That's a problem when the enjoyment to these types of stories correlates to how well you can be immersed in them. The writing in Veilguard didnt allow for that. Due to that, the social commentary or "woke" feels forced, corny, and downright disrespectful in some parts. Like a resentful p❀re-teen writing slash fanfiction.
The issue with Bioware rn is the pursuit of mone🌸y, trends, and streamlining over making a game that respects the world and lore they've built up over the years.
Representation, modern-day disc🌠ourse, and challenging the norm wouldn't kill a game like this. Trying to make a quick buck off of your gullible f🙈ans by mushing it all together without the deep and well written narrative that has come to represent the series since its inception, would.

Fextralife put it best, it's a ok RPG and a terrible Dragon Age. The nuance, conflict between groups and people, and the moral gray ar💎eas are what made Dragon Age great. It's not an issue of "too woke." BG3 managed to be perfectly inclusive without compromising the rich lore and narrative of the world they used. Just as the older Dragon age games managed to do.
