See AllThings Would All Be Difꩲferent If Mass Effect And Dragon Age Switched Places
Both ME and DA games were very inclusive from the start and no one really cared as long as games were good, and for the most part they were great. Not so with the DA VG because it is tragically bad as a game. You say yourself that it went ME way, no reason for that really but ok, with characters that would seem shallow in Doom or Mortal combat game, no choices that matter and flat and cartoonish world and lore. Just to be clear even ME Andromeda had more of it and other ME games much, much more. Also good DA game could and should be able to compete even with BG3, maybe not every step along the way but it should be able to try. For DA VG even older Elder Scrolls games are to much to cope with. Also when you make character that's so anoying, unprincipaled and has ꩵtoxic personality, with the way it treats others that would 𝔍leave them in some ditch by the road in most stories no matter their gender declaration you can't blame it on haters and conservatives. In all previous DA/ ME games such characters were present and mostly no one minded, some were even among most popular, but they were well written and presented and not anoying caricatures like most characters in VG. You said it yourself that ME and DA are different in mechanics and type, but they all have deep world building and lore with strong characters, even premises and goals of their stories are very similar (overwhelming treats, making alliances, gathering DIVERSE party of strong and interesting characters) so order of appearance shouldn't matter as long as game is done well and with VG that's not the case.
DLC Wouldn't Have Fixed Dragon Age: The Veilguard, But It Deserved Some Anyway
There is no possibility for redemption for this game. It's story was abysmal, charact⛦ers even worse and combat so repetitive, simplified and action oriented that DA2 combat looks like grand strategy. Space Marine and Mechwarrior games have more layered and tactical combat mechanics than this one. EA started trying to milk the contemporary trends since DA2 with more action oriented combat, then DA Inq. obviously tried MMORPG mechanics and look, but still it worked on some level. Veilguard went to far both with its mechanics and social agenda. There are much better action games around, with better combat and some have even more RPG elements then it without even trying to be RP game. Don't forget all DA games were very open and inclusive from the start but both lore and characters were masterfully done merging flawlessly with great stories. Veilguard is parody that tries to prioritize its messages irrelevant of story, lore or anything else. If you compare characters from it with ones in BG3, Div. Orig. Sin, Mass Ef. or other DA games (they all had diverse and inclusive cast) difference is tragically obvious. So no DLC could make bad things go away when games foundation is so warped and bad.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Vs. Baldur's Gate 3 - Which Game Is Better?
BG3 is better by far jus🎐t as a game in general. Since DA VG hardly qualify as an ARPG, let alone RPG in any true sense, further comparison is hard. All the points that are mentioned as strong ones are actually weaknesses for what true DA or RPG game should be. VG is good game you can enjoy if you like action games mixed with RPG elements, but in that genre there are better ones. As a spinoff it's OK, as a next DA game not so much, story, characters, decisions, style, look or a DA feeling simply are not there. BG3 on the other hand knows what it wants to be and does that superbly and in the right way, even if it also changes a lot of things when compared to it's predecessors.
