Dragon Age: The Veilguard Fans Point Out The Inconsistency Of Taash's Story
I think it was down to the simply binary worldview of the particular writer responsible for Taash's character arc. It's extremely likely that the broad strokes were handed down from the powers that be (so that the character content would be able to graft itself into the overarching narrative) and the writer ꦫwas given some freedom to do as they pleased. I understand this is SOP in many cases, the end result of course being vetted.
Given the relative diversity of the other cast of character, and the fact that you are able to romance them regardless of gender, it seems to me that the outcome here may largely have been a sort of protest do🌳ne subtly. Well, perhaps not so subtly but indirectly.
What I mean to say is that it was (or may have been) ideologically or politically mot🥀ivated. I greatly dislike it, whatever the original reason may have been.
People are more complex than that, and not ju🐈st politically but by pretty much every other metric I can think. The way it was done here isn't just slapdash and poorly constructed, it also cheapens the story a LOT.
