Totally disagree. Killing off main characters for the drama is an o💧verplayed trope that it's nice to get a break from in FFXIV. The writers on the game, especially Ishikawa-san, are good enough at what they do to make us bawl like babies every game without it. FFXIV is deliberately campy, but it's giving the characters arcs and depth✅ that make it so rich to play, not scrapping them.
