I am a huge Yakuza fan, I have played all the games, have seen the Takashi Miike Movie and even played some of the spin-off games. I started to watch the show and am really enjoying it so far. The story is not exactly what the first game covered and that is fine, as a newer story makes so there are twists and turns I won't know coming. I feel it captured the essence of the games with random fights and humor. The show so far after 2 1/2 episodes has made me want to watch the whole season before judging it. The point is that there are also good reviews of the show from gaming publications. yes, there are some mediocre reviews as well. So far it is pretty faithful without being cartoonish. They got the clothes down, random fights, and the actor who plays Kiryu so far is doi🐎ng a good job. My point is again. that TheGamer is supposed to be journalism, not a fan blog, so they should be covering g the facts that the show is getting mixed reviews not that it only gets negative reviews which is untrue. Sebastian and I can have different opinions and reviews of the show and that is ok, we area stating our opinions as fans, we are not journalists. Also if this was a review of the show where the reviewer was giving their person opinion that is different, but it is not, it is an article about the reviews of the show. The Eurogamer review says that it captures the sprit of the games and I agree.

If you are a fan of the games, I would say give the series a chance and watch half the season before judging if it is good or not. Go in with an open mind and you might enjoy it or you might not and that is ok. But don't judge it as negative and bad based on less than 10 reviews.
