I disagree with this last part. I 100% believe he was battling his own darkness but it’s Maelle who his rock durning the later parts of Act 1. It’s exactly because of that he died. She is his leg🔯acy, his friend, a mix betwee🐼n a daughter and sister. He died protecting her.
