Summary

  • Classic GameCube titles are coming to Nintendo Switch Online, but they're exclusive to Switch 2.
  • Twilight Princess wasn't announced for NSO alongside The Wind Waker, so could this mean Nintendo is holding back because of a potential remake?
  • I need to see Midna again, stat.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:T🎐his week’s Ni🎃ntendo Direct was a busy one, with new games and a bunch of regular Switch games being Enhanced for the Switch 2 revealed, as well as a lot more information on the console itself. Not only that, Nintendo also announced that classic GameCube titles ๊will be coജming to Nintendo Switch Online, with fan-favourite Zelda game The Wind Waker finally coming t🌳o Switch 2 after being requested for years.

The GameCube games are exclusive to Switch 2, so you'll s🐻till have to fork out 📖for a new console to play them.

However, whenever fans imagined The Wind Waker coming to Switch, Twilight Princess was supposed to be right there alongside it. You’ve probably seen the fan mock-ups of an HD remaster double-pack with the two games, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:though with game prices these days, maybe that was always a pipe dream.

HDR Breat🐬h Of The Wild🤪 Is Unironically My Dream Game Come True

We are so back.

Still, the two have long been conflated as a pair: they’re both GameCube-era Zelda games (though Twilight Princess al💟so launched on the Wii) and they both r🙈eceived HD remasters on the Wii U.

So why has N🦩intendo left Twilight Princess behind for its reveal of GameCube on NSO? Surely it wouldn’t just casually drop the game on a random Tuesday later in the console’s lifetime? Nintendo being Nintendo, though, I wouldn’t say that’s off the cards.

Could Nintendo Be Holding Back On Twilight Princess For A Remake?

I’m a huge Twilight Princess fan, so I’m huffing pure copium here, but… what if Nintendo isn’t putting OG Twilight Princess on NSO just yet because it has another, bigger reveal up its sleeve? Perhaps a full remake?

I know we have Twilight Princess HD, and it looks pr🔴etty good, but its textures have definitely aged significantly worse than The Wind Waker’s cel-shaded style. Plus, I want it for purely selfish reasons, and I won’t be alone in that desire.

I never had a GameCube growing up; I was a bit too young in tha🅘t era - sorry to whoever spontaneously sprouts grey hairs from reading that - and my dad is more of a PlayStation guy. I didn’t buy a Wii U (who did?) so my option fell to the ꧂Wii version, because everyone had a Wii.

I pl๊ayed Twilight Princess with a ten-year-o🅺ld Wii remote and nunchuck so broken I couldn’t unlock Link’s special attacks because they simply wouldn’t register no matter how hard I tried. And I still loved it.

E🧜xcept that awful protect-the-wagon section, though that was also probably made worse by my barely functioning Wii remote😼.

But I didn’t get the same experience everyone else had on the original GameCube or on the Wii U. Is it so wrong to want to play one of my favourite games how it🐼’s actually meant to be played?

No, I will not buy a Wii U in the year of 2025, sor๊ry.

Please Let Me See My Wife, Nintendo

Remake or not, it’s been too lꦑong since we’ve seen Midna. Why are you keeping us from her, Nintendo? The best way to test out the Switch 2’s graphical capabiliti✱es would be to show off her Twili beauty. Just like Link, I’d have no words left.

It seems like another one of those classic, weird Nintendo decisions that no one can wrap their heads around. It would make perfect sense for The Wind Waker and Twiligh꧑t Princess to come to NSO together, especially at a special, once-in-a-generation showcase.

Maybe I just need t🤡o wait a little longer for Twilight Princess’ time to come, but until it does, I’ll hold out a little hope that we’ll be getting something more than a simple virtual console port.
