Summary

  • Nier and Drakengard director Yoko Taro was recently invited to give his impressions on the demo for Metaphor: ReFantazio.
  • In true Yoko Taro fashion, the director appeared as a disembodied head on a stool, and claimed that the game is so stylish that he "almost soiled himself" while playing.
  • We'll have to see for ourselves whether the game's art style is that good when October 11 rolls around. I'll be keeping a spare pair of trousers handy just in case.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Metaphor: ReFantazio is just around the corner, the next game by the team behind 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Persona 5 that aims to differentiate itself with its high fantasy setting. It shares some similarities with the Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series, one of them being the incredibly stylish UI and aesthetics. Atlus has got a bit of a reputation to uphold in that particular area, and Nier directo𒀰r Yoko Taro already thinks the game has delivered.

When Metaphor: ReFantazio w🌊as first announced, all the way back in 2016, Yoko Taro actually made a fun little video for Atlus marketing the game. Now that the game is almost here, Yoko Taro was invited back to give his impressions of the game in .

It starts out in typical Yoko Taro fashion, claiming that the director is "pint-sized" to avoid heat stroke, as Lina voice actor Tomomi Isomura talks to his disembodied head on a chair. Obviously, Taro is talking to Isomura over voice chat or something - as eccentric as he is, I don't think he'd actually shrink himself down for an interview.

Yoko Taro Says He "Almost Soiled Himself" Playing Metaphor: ReFantazio

Taro is then asked what he thinks of the game after playing the demo, and it seems the director is full of nothing but praise. The first thing he noticed is that Atlus appears to have put "a lot of work" into the stylish UI, and he was so impressed that he says he "almost soiled [him]self" due to how stylish it was. I really hope that's just Taro's quirkiness coming through there and not something that actually happened.

Taro goes on to praise other elements of the game, explaining how he thought the game's mixture of turn-based and real-time combat was "well-polished" and how it made him feel like he was playing "a truly next-gen game." The video continues with Taro and Isomura talking more about the game and things they liked, with brief pauses for Taro to advertise Nier games and anime.

He's right though, you should all go play Nier Automata.

It's a very tongue in cheek marketing video, as almost everything that includes Yoko Taro is, but it's a great sign that a director as esteemed as him is so enthusiastic about it. Just like he brings up in the video, Taro is a Square Enix employee and isn't really obliged to market Metaphor: ReFantazio, so that alone tells us he's a big fan. Now we just need to get our hands on it ourselves, which will happen on the game's release date on October 11 next month.
