Between the four Immortal Sects and the wide variety of cards available to each, there's lots of complexity and room for builds in a given match.

Even if you take some time to practice in single-player before trying your hand against others, Yi Xian's fꦯast-paced rounds and Cultivation system can take a little getting used to. Use these tips to empower your chosen Immortal and defeat all challengers!

Know When A Card Is No Longer Useful

Chances are good that you'll spend the first few rounds of every match upgrading the Meditation Phase cards that you start with. D🌼r🐼awing from a limited card pool, it's much easier to reach the third and final upgrade level for cards at this stage than it is later.

That said, Meditation cards are quickly overshadowed by the more powerful abilities unlocked after even a single Breakthrough. Even if you spent a long time getting a card to max level,🐟 there will come a time when you need to Absorb or Exchange it to open the slot in your deck for something better.

This also applies to unnecessary resources; for example, if you have a card that gives stacks of Hex🎶agram but don't have any cards that benefit from it, there's no need to keep the Hexagram card around.

Keep Your Options Open

Ideally, every single round will see an improvement to your deck. Once you've found a combo that works, though, it can be tempting to just cycle through cards looking for upgrades. This leaves you open to falling behind other players - or worse, giving them an opportunit🐭y to disrupt you if thღey know what's coming.

Changing even a single card can affect your entire combo in battle, so it's imoportant to keep cards around that could be useful later. For example, it's a good idea to keep a card th🍬at generates Qi in case you need to slot in a higher-cost card after reaching the next Breakthrough Phase.

While your overall strategy will typically focus on a single archetype within your sect, being able to shake up your strategy keeps your opponents guessingꦕ and lets you react to bad matchups.

Use All Of Your Exchanges

Each round, you can discard several cards to draw new ones using the Exchange pile at the bottom-right corner of the screen. Unless you're lucky enough to get exactly the cards that you need, it's always a good idea to keep swapping card until you run out of chances. This makes it more likely that you'll find upgrades or better combo pieces.

In most rounds, it's best to use up your Exchanges first, then Absorb any unneeded cards for Cultivation. The exception to this is when you are one or two cards away from a Breakthrough. By reaching the next Breakthrough Phase before ꦐExchanging, you give yourself the opportunity to draw higher-tier cards and give yourself an advantage -𓃲 particularly if your opponent is still in the previous Phase.

Always Double-Check Your Qi

The best cards io Yi Xian typically cost one or more Qi to activate. If you don't have enough Qi to power a card, your character will spend their turn generating one Qi instead. This disrupts your attack and slows you down, ꦗso avoid this situation at all costs!

Whenever you make any change to your deck, take a look to make sure that you're still generating enough Qi for all your cards. A card that can't be powered will have its Qi cost highlighted in red, indicating that you need to make aဣn immediate change, but the game can't always recognize when you might have a Qi shortage after two or three cycles through your d🀅eck.

Consumables that generate Qi will only benefit you once per battle, and there's always a chance that your opponent could reduce your Qi with their cards. Try to reliably generate one to two more Qi than you'll need, especially if you h✱ave cards that benefit from having lots of Qi stored up.

Unlock Side Jobs First

Each player gets to select one Side Job, a subclass that gives them access to unique cards. When you create a new account, only the Elixirist Job, which focuses on creating consumable healing and buffs, is available. It's a good idea to spend some of your starting resources on unlocking at least one additional Side Job.

Fuluist is a good choice, as it pairs extra damage with debuffs that ༺are useful to any character.

You won't be able to unlock all of the Side Jobs right away, but having at least one additionalꦆ option for all your characters will help you win more matches. It's worth noting that while you can try any character in single-player to test them out, you still n🌟eed to unlock Side Jobs before you can use them there. Test your favorite Side Job with a character you're considering unlocking to see how they synergize before spending your hard-earned Jade!

Practice With All Four Sects

Playing through a sin💦gle-player run with a character from each Sect will help you find the one whose playstyle is the best fit. Having a card pool that you understand will go a long way toward winning matches.

By the same token, it's important to 💯know your opponents; having played each Sect, you'll be able to anticipate their strategies and have a plan for countering them.

Disrupt Your Opponent's Strategy

Every character has access to devastatingܫ combos that, if allowed to go off, will make short work of an opponent. By interrupting their lineup, you can stall their combo or even take it apart, giving yourself a much better chance of winning the round.

Clicking on your opponent's portrait while planning your deck for the round will show you the deck that they used in their previous battle. While you should always expect that they'll make at least some changes, this will give you a good idea of what to expect. By adding cards that skip over their abilities🦹, interrupt their Qi flow, or neutralize their main s🐻trategy, you can stop them dead in their tracks.

For example, if a player relies on high Defense to mitigate damage while they slowly chip away at you, try inflicting Internal Injury to get damage through.

You're Still In The Game As Long As Your Destiny Is Above Zero

Multiplayer matches end when only one player has any Destiny left; even if you lose several battles in a row, you can still come out on top by adjusting your strategy and being ready to face your opponent the next time. If a player defeats you easily, look for cards that will help you prevail in your nex🧸t encounter.

Even players who go undefeated for long streaks aren't much more powerful than the rest of the combatants - they can only raise their Cultivation so much in a given round, after all. As long as you aren't eliminated, you still have a chance to recover and win the tournament.

If you're in the final two, remember that you can afford to lose matches if your Destiny is above thirty♌, or if you have a Phase Ability from your character that will save you from dying once. Changing your deck and reactin♍g to your opponent's build are the best ways to go from a second-place finish to a first.
