Capcom Town, the adorable city-themed hub-site for all of Capcom’s franchises that I pray to the Lord every night will become be a real place, just launched Super Elections: a surprisingly elaborate survey all about future Capcom games. After designing your own wallpaper and providing some demographic details, the survey walks you through a variety of fan-centric questions about your favorite titles, characters, and the qualities you look for in a Capcom game. Questioꦅn five asks “Are there any Capcom games se💃ries (including spinoff games) that you would like to see get a sequel or new game?” Yes Capcom, there are.
At first glance, it seems like the options listed here are just all of Capcom’s franchises. You can choose Street Fighter, Monster Hunter, and Resident Evil - all series that either just got sequels or have aꦛlready-announced sequels on the way. No one needs to beg Capcom for a new Resident Evil right now, and there’s no reason Capcom should need to take a temperature check on that series either. You can only pick three choices anyway, sဣo there’s no use wasting a vote on Dragon’s Dogma.

More than likely, this survey is being used to gauge interest for games that haven’t gotten any attention for a long time and, since this is Capcom we’re talking about, there are plenty of those. The last Devil May Cry (not including 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the mobile game abomination t𒀰hat ﷽just came out) was Devil May Cry 5 in 2019, making this the biggest gap between entries ever. There hasn’t been a new Onimusha in 12 years or a new Lost Planet in 11 years, and Okami’s one and only sequel is now 13 years old. Goobers have be✃en begging for a new Dino Crisis since the third one came out 21 years ago, now’s their chance to beg for one on an official channel.
There’s some interesting ones here. The Dead Rising series ended amidst development for Dead Rising 5, when the company shuttered Capcom Vancouver in 2018. Were that series to come back - and many hope it will - the game would be made by an entirely unrelated studio. Ace Attorney has been in a holding pattern for seven years now, with only re-releases to hold fans over. Ditto for Mega Man; 11 came out in 2018, and since then we’ve only gotten mobile games and Legacy Collections. With last year’s Mega Man Battle Network Legacy collection exceeding sales expectations and alm💃ost certainly becoming the most successful Mega Man game ever, Capcom might be looking to give the Blue Bomber some long overdue spotlight in the n🐠ew future.
It’s also interesting to consider the games that aren’t included here. While ancient, long-abandoned series like 1942 and Darkstalkers may lead you to believe all of Capcom's franchises are on the list, there’s a few that aren’t. There’s no mention of Viewtiful Joe, which I’ve decided to take extremely personally, nor the option to choose Strider or Steel Battalion. There’s also entries for some Capcom franchises that only had a single game, like Power Stone, Dark Void, or Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, which just got a remaster last year. This leads me to believe that the games on this list are ones that Capcom is actually considering making.
The next question asks specifically about remakes, and there are far fewer options here, which reinforces the notion that this isn’t just for fun: Capcom is actually in som🃏e stages o🔥f the planning process for these games. Most of the games here weren’t featured in the previous question, like Commando, Final Fight, Rival Schools, and Gargoyle’s Quest I and II. I chose the “Not in here” option out of protest for Viewtiful Joe. I recommend you do the same.
This feels a little more substantial than the typical player-interest survey, though I think it might have been a bad idea to frame ꦍthis as an election, which gives people the idea that they’re voting for something. Still, that shouldn’t stop you from showing up to represent your favorite games. I voted for Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Dino Crisis, because it turns out I am one of those goobers. At the end of the survey you’re allowed 400 characters to write whatever you want. Don’t ask me how I know this, but that’s enough char💞acters to write Viewtiful Joe 28 times.
