If 2021 has taught us one thing, it's that the gaming industry wants us to stop having fun on old consoles. Instead, we should be picking up one of those PS5s I hear so much about, which is fine if you feel like selling your firstborn to a scalper, I guess. First, Sony tried to shut down the 🃏dဣigital storefronts on PS3, Vita, and PSP, but pushed this forward due to backlash. And now, 343 Industries is doing the same. Servers for Halo games on Xbox 360 are now set to shut down January, 2022. This is admittedly a delay from the initial death date of December, but still marks the end of an area for Halo fans, many of whom fell in love with the series in these lobbies. 343 Industries made the announcement this week, updating the original plan to 👍shut down the services. - Halo: Reach 
- Halo 4 
- Halo 3 
- Halo 3: ODST 
- Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary 
- Spartan Assault 
- Halo Wars 
While disappointed, fans do seem to understand the decision. Almost every game on the list has enjoyed over a decade of online support, with Halo 3 having online services for a staggering 14 years. While itꦗ is an end of an era, what a bloody era it was.
The fanbase will likely be preoccupied with another game anyway: Halo Infinite. After originally intended to be a l🦩aunch title for the Xbox Series X/S, it's finally releasing December 8. It will b🍸e available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
