ಞ Wuthering Waves: Cantarella Build And Team Guide ✱

Cantarella is on♛e of the most anticipated characters in Wuthering Waves, and here are the best weapons and echoes you can use on her.

You'll also want to know how to beat Fleurdleys because her Echo is a fantastic addition to any Aero DPS. We'll cover everything you need to knowꦦ in this guide.

All First Phase Attacks

Fleurdleys using her a blade beam attack in her first phase in Wuthering Waves.

Like any good capstone encounter, Fleurdleys has a long attack list, which expands after reaching 50 percent health and entering her second phase. She doesn't have a lot of big one-shot attacks, trading burst damage for dea𓂃th by a thousand cuts.

Many of her attacks also summon additional swords to extend the attack's reach or deal additional damage while she winds up another move. Fleurdleys also likes to play with positioning in the arena, either by denying yours or physically moving y🍸ou to a less advantageous location.

Attack

Can it be Dodged or Parried?

Description

How to Avoid or Counter

Diagonal Waves Slashes

Can be dodged but not parried.

Two diagonal slashes that send out sharp blades of water

Dodge to the side just as the attack is about to reach you.

Water Ground Wave

Can be dodged but not parried.

A wide wave of water travels along the ground toward you. Fleu🍰rdleys star♊ts the attack by pointing her sword at the sky.

Dodge to the side just as the attack is about to reach you.

Slash and Summon Swords

Can be dodged but not parried.

A single diagonal slash quickly followed by three large swords stabbing the ground near you.

Dodge to the side just as the slash is about to reach you, then almost immediately again to avoid the summoned sword.

Triple Slash and Distant Slashes

Can be dodged but not parried.

Three diagonal slashes, then Fleurdleys shines a light from her fingertips, turns invisible, and creates a zone of slashes where you're standing.

Dodge to one side three times for the main slashes, and once more for the smaller grouping. Beware this move can quickly combo into others.

Heavy Slash and Tracking Summoned Swords

Can be dodged but not parried.

Slashes with a smaller sword, then immediately summons three swords in quick succession that track your position.

Dodꦜge the first ♏smaller sword swing, then quickly dodge twice to avoid subsequent attacks.

Sword Beam

Can be dodged but not parried.

Collects the three side swords into a single point of energy, then sends that energy out in a straight beam of light.

Dodge about a second after Fleurdleys begins charging the attack.

Four Sword Combo

Can be dodged but not parried.

Takes a sword in both hands, then slashes once, then kicks and summons a pair of large swords from the ground. Finally, makes a cross slash with a great deal of forward momentum.

Carefully dodge to the side just as each swing is about to connect. There is about a beat and a half between attacks.

Six Hit Combo

Can be dodged but not parried.

Raises her sword to the sky, then:

  • Slashes once, then floats back, a beat, then another slash.
  • Teleports away and thrust attacks.
  • Three vertical slashes with a beat and a half between.

Dodge as each swing is just about to reach you, except the thrust, which you'll know by the flash when she's atꦡ distance.

Ten Hit Everything Combo

The first hit can be parried, or the rest must be dodged.

C🌜ommands side swords to do coordinated attacks, then:

  • Swings once, followed by a barrage of smaller swords.
  • Three swings with side sword follow-ups.
  • Flies high in the air and hangs before throwing her main sword into the ground.
  • Flies down and grabs the main sword, shoots a barrage of side swords, which summons three large swords to strike the ground.

Parrying the first attack nullifies the entire combo. You'll need to be light on your feet to dodg❀e the rest of them.

The air attack has a deceptive♛ delay, and the attacks that follow it come in quick succession.

Mermaid Dive

Can be dodged but not parried.

Makes a vertical cut and flies into the sky, then grows a "tail" and slams the ground, ending with a spinning slash.

Dodging as usual avoids the attack, and being in the air avoids the slam.

Energy Pull

Can be dodged but not parried.

Gathers purple white energy and sends out 🌠a misty wave, then a flash. If caught, you'll be teleported directly in front of Fleurdleys.

Dodge just as the flash appears.

All Second Phase Attacks

Fleurdleys using her Ultimate, arena-wide attack in Wuthering Waves.

The second phase of the Fleurdleys fight is a more intense version of the first. Her various attacks and combos flow into one another more fluidly, c𒁏over more ground, and deal more damage. Her "ultimate" attack turns the entire arena into a death zone, with feܫw safe places to stand.

The strategy for beating Fleurdleys, however, remains much the same, as few of her new attacks can be parried. Dodging and counter-attacking as she recovers is the path to victory.

Interestingly, the second phase only introduces one attack, but it contains over a dozen different attacks.

Attack

Can be Dodged or Parried?

Description

How to Avoid or Counter

Shockwave and Six Slashes, plus Arena Slash

Can be dodged but not parried.

After sending out a shockwave, teleports toᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ you, and slashes with both swords twice. Then:

  • Rises into the air and uses a falling ax kick.
  • Does a backflip kick.
  • Generates three fields of slashes at your location.
  • Does a thrust attack from distance, followed by a circular slash.
  • Floats in the air and sends out a blade beam.
  • Shoots a sword into the ground at your location.
  • Flies above the center of the arena and draws lines on the ground.
  • Once all lines are drawn, slashes across each in sequence.
  • One final, huge slash. Time will slow down to let you dodge.

As the attacks cannot be parried, you need to dodge each in turn. Only the thrust has much forward momentum, letting you back away from the kicks.

To avoid the arena slash, stand anywhere the lines are not, th💃en dodge after about half a second into the time slow.

Tips For Beating Fleurdleys

Carlotta standing next to a downed Fleurdleys in Wuthering Waves.

Fleurdleys is an Aero enemy, though this doesn't provide any significant resistance to the damage type, it's worth noting. The most important thing to understand about fighting her is that almost all of her attacks have a longer windup and faster fo🌸llow-up attacks.

The few moves that are just plain fast won't do a lot of damage, thankfully, and even they tend to have obvious tells. However, because many of Fleurdleys's attack strings are on the longer side and can't be parried, you'ဣll need to be careful about your stamina management.

Once Fleurdleys stops attacking, there's usually a one or two-second recovery animation, giving you a chance for relatively free dama🌠ge. It's not foolproof. Sometimes she'll simply flow into another attack string.

Another thing to keep in mind is the delay on her attacks. Fleurdleys is designed to punish dodge spam. That goes double for attacks with multiple weapons or projectiles. In practice, you only need two dodges to deal with many of Fleurdleys's attacks, but those dodges need to be appropriately tꦦimed.

Best Teams To Beat Fleurdleys

Without notable resistances, you can use any of the top teams to take down Fleurdleys, and if you've invested enough in them, free-to-play te🅺ams work well, too.

This S-Tier team i💎s all limited 5-stars, but it has th𒁏e effectiveness to match.

  • Carlotta is incredibly easy to use and has one of the highest damage thresholds in the game. Build into Resonant Skill and Resonant Liberation damage, and use her Skill liberally to freeze Fleurdleys in place while dealing damage.
  • Zhezhi's supplemental damage and Glacio buffs make her the top choice for Carlotta teams. You can use Sanhua as a perfectly satisfactory free-to-play substitute.
  • Shorekeeper is the preeminent support unit, offering unmatched Crit damage buffs, healing, and even a bit of supplemental DPS.

Havoc teams are still find𒈔ing their niche, but the trial team from the 2.2 story quest is a fine choice.

  • Camellya is probably the best all-around DPS we have across all the endgame modes, with good damage and grouping. She also makes parrying easy, though you'll need to be careful about too much spin to win against Fleurdleys.
  • Cantarella offers solid damage of her own and goes miles buffing the rest of the team's Havoc damage output.
  • Roccia is here primarily to round out the premium mono-Havoc team, but her damage output is solid and her gameplay enjoyable.

This ꦓteam is perfectly serviceable for those without easy access to the to🦂p limited 5-star characters.

  • Havoc Rover is a very straightforward damage dealer, with solid output in their enhanced state and a ton of burst potential from their Resonance Liberation.
  • Danjin is a more technical character who uses her HP as a resource, but she can do some minor healing of her own, and her damage is good as well.
  • Baizhi is the best 4-star Support option in the game, and while she doesn't compare to Shorekeeper or Verina, she does provide enough healing to keep a team up and fighting.
