If you'reꦇ looking for a character who can get you past all the fights in Wuthering Waves, you have quite a few choices!

The development team behind Wuthering Waves poured immense effort into meticulously crafting the cast of the game. From the initial technical tests to the game's final launch, these characters underwent significant evolution, shaping them into the iconic figures we enjoy today.

There are three main iterations of ꦐthe characters before their final release: technical test (tech test), first closed beta test (CBT1), and second closed beta te🐬st (CBT2).

8 Yangyang

Yangyang is an Outrider in the Midnight Rangers. Her design underwent several changes from the initial tech test to the final launch. Originally, her tacet marks were diamonds on her sternum and forehead. She wore bandages around her chest under her bodice for extra support in battle. Yangyang's design was largely unchanged in CBT1, except that her tacet mark was updated and now only present on her forehead.

In the first iteration of the Wuthering Waves, resonators' iconic tacet marks were instead simple diamond shapes. Its original design looks almost like a tacet field. The tacet marks were updated for all characters in CBT1.

By the time CBT2 rolled around, Yangyang obviously went clothes shopping with her friends. She found a black, athletic camisole to wear under her shirt instead of the bandages, which is sure to breathe 🐼better and be more comfortable for all-day use.

7 Female Rover 🌸

Arguably, one of the most important character designs is that of the main protagonist. When you first start Wuthering Waves, you can choose between playi💖ng as the male or female Rover. The main change made between the tec🐭h test and game launch for the male Rover was r𝓰efining his stature and posture, but the female Rover took a day at the hair salon.

Beta players commented that the original female Rover design made her head look disproportionately large, augmented by her fluffy, busy hairstyle. Her hairstylist took the feedback to heart and smoothed out her hair, shaped her bangs to better frame her face, and convinced her to remove her hair accessories. Rover's current look fits her much better and has become popular with her fans.

6 Mortefi

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mortefi is a fusion resonator and a member of the Academy’s Department of Safety, renowned as an expert in Applied Tacetite Study. While he is known today as a stickler for cleanliness and organization, this w✨as no🐓t always the case. In the tech test, Mortefi gave the impression of a messy, unkempt researcher with a red dragon tail.

Mortefi 🐭is one of the best supports you can upgrade in Wuthering Waves, especially if you have the right i𝕴tems to build him.

Being a resonator mutates the body, such as adding taiꦰls or scales and changing eyes.

In CBT1, Mortefi found his ultimate form of the suave, meticulous, put-together scientist we know and love today. It seems he discovered the existence of hairbrushes and hair spray, as his hair became less disarrayed, and he took the time to style his now-iconic bangs. Most notably, his dragon tail disappeared, though he retained his scales and dragon eyes. All CBT2 had to do was refine the model and improve its gra✤phics.

5 Yinlin

Yinlin nailed her overall aesthetic in the tech test, but needed some tweaking before she was ready for the game's launch. Initially, her look was a lot softer, with gentle curves in her outfit and a less severe hairstyle. This was a stark contrast to her personality and voice acting, which has largely remained unchanged since the tech test.

Yinlin received a significant update in CBT1. She now has elf ears and a more intricate ponytail adorned with gold accessories instead of black. Her🧜 outfit is more detailed and balanced, with gold accessories creating continuity across her design. The introduction of sharp angles, such as the V-cut on her stomach and side-sl🍨its, paralleled her personality, giving her a more cohesive and striking appearance.

4 Baizhi

Baizhi started life in the tech test as Bailian. Her sense of style was passable but by no means stood out among the cast. In CBT1, Baizhi's tacet mark was moved from her hand to her upper thigh. She must have watched some YouTube makeup tutorials, because her eye makeup became sharper and more developed, adding a distinct cat eye. Baizhi went wild and even added a color streak to her hair.

After receiving feedback from beta testers, Baizhi got a glow-up in CBT2. Officially renamed 'Baizhi,' she thinned her bangs and removed her side braid. Her hair became darker with a green gradation. Her eyes changed from purple to green, matching her hair. Baizhi ditched her romper for a mini-dress with a more refined bodice, incorporating delicate lace with a flower design that looks like ice.

3 Verina

Verina is the botanical resonator of Jinzhou. As a botanist, you'd think that a plant aesthetic would have been integral to her design from the onset. Surprisingly, that came later. During the tech test, Verina, then called Jueyuan, was introduced wearing a white romper with a low-cut top and stomach cut-out. An interesting design choice for a child character. She also sported puffy leg warmers that didn't match the rest of her silhouette, along with goggles and bulky pigtails. Fortunately, Wuthering Waves' designers listened to player feedback after the tech test.

Verina's original goggles were inscribed with the phrase, "I'm late. I'm afraid I got lost on the path of life," a quote from Kakashi in Naruto. Additionally, Verina does the iconic Naruto run. In another universe, she could have been a Hidden Leaf ninja.

The release of CBT1 saw a significant redesign with a much stronger botanical influence. Verina changed her romper for a pair of shorts and a green and white flowing top. She replaced her bulky leg warmers with a pair that better matched her overall silhouette. Her hair was styled into the more intricate style we know today. Verina also developed a resonator mutation in the form of 𝕴a vine growing from 👍her neck, which she refers to as her tail.

In CBT2, she was officially named Verina. She became shorter and received chibi features, giving her a more youthful appearance. She finally said goodbye to her goggles, replacing them with a leaf-shaped headband. She changed into a simpler, dark-green, flowing top and removed her gloves. However, given her line of work, it's likely she keeps some sturdy gardening gloves tucked away in her bag.

2 Chixia

The first iterations of Chixia looked a bit like a short-haired Tifa from Final Fantasy 7. Her schoolgirl-like aesthetic featured a simple white top, black skirt, a single red glove, and high-heeled sneakers. This basic 💛appearance, more fitting for an NPC in the world of Solaris-3, was at odds with her personality.

The starting cast of the game, Rover, Yangyang, and Baizhu all had black hair. With Chixia's black hair added to the mix, it was difficult for any of them to stand out.

Chixia underwent a complete transformation in CBT1. Her black ha꧃ir was now bright red with a blue streak and she sported a matching red tube top with a more interesting outer jacket. She found another glove around the house, resulting in a pair of red and black gloves to protect her hands. However, this new Chixia had an even more fiery personality that beta testers found off-putting.

If you like Chixia's play style in Wuthering Waves, here's how you can easily build her up to beat all 𒈔the endgame content!

CBT2 refined Chixia's personality, though her physical design remained largely unchanged. She mellowed out and was less combative, making her more friendly towards Rover. In CBT1, Chixia was extremely wary of Rover and scared of their abilities. By the time CBT2 rolled out, she immediately became friends with Rover and was more concerned about their well-being.

1 Lingyang

Beware story spoilers.

Lingyang was or✨iginally an NPC in CBT1. Initially, he took the form of an anthropomorphic white tiger named Awu. Beta testers were turned off by his beast-like appearance and perceived him as overly severe and rude. This feedback suggests that there might have been a disconnect between his intended personality and how it was conveyed in the game.

A cutscene in Lingyang's character quest shows a group of kids asking Lingyang about his claws, a call-back to his original design.

Lingyang's original design was very distinctive and unusual, particularly due to his unique hand and foot shapes. It's easier for designers to give all playable characters the same foot and hand shapes, streamlining animation. However, Awu had cat-like paws and claws. His anthropomorphic features were meant to give him a striking and memorable appearance, making him stand out in the game's world as the last suan'ni.
