Throughout most of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Wuchang: Fallen Feathers up to this point, you have been battling Feathered bosses, each more monst✤rous than the last. The Tang Palace holds plenty of its own mysteries despite there being basically no Feathered beings there at all, or eve༒n rebels. Just palace guards remaining to defend something.

Best Soulslike Games Easier Than Dar✱k Souls

These soulslike games haveꦡ an easier 🌳learning curve than most.

And it is when you encounter Honglan you realise just how desperately they are fighting to protect and hide this secret something. Honglan is no Feathered being, but a human with full awareness of her actions. And that is what makes her one of the most challenging battles ꦰin the whole game up to this point.

Preparation For Honglan

An item encased in a stone in wuchang fallen feathers.

The battle with Honglan begins from the moment you drop into the drained pond at the centre of the Tang Palace, sꦫo make sure you have all your prep finished bꦗy this point.

The game also gives you a tutorial on Deflects and Clashes﷽ as you appཧroach the boss fight, a good indication of what might be helpful here.

Honglan is fast, obscenely so, and can reposition herself with ease. As such, slower weapons like the Axe are functionally useless here. The Longsword and Spear can still have a place, but you'll likely find better luck with Dual Blades and One-Handed Swords. Remember that you♌ can respec everything in the Impetus Repository free-of-charge at any time, so change up your build as required.

The vast majority of damage dealt by Honglan will be Slash damage, though she can also deal Stab and Blunt damage with many of her attacks. As such, you'll want a fairly well-rounded build i🗹n terms of defenses. However, she does not use any particular elements no does she cause any status effects, so you can safely ignore these resistances in favour of higher defenses.

Like the game warns you when you first get close to Honglan, Clash and Deflect can be very helpful here. Clash can b♍e found on a few weapons, such as the Longsword and Spear and let you take reduced damage from attacks and avoid being interrupted by them. Deflect is more obvious, letting you negate the damage from an attack entirely and br🍌iefly stagger the enemy. This is available earliest on the Longsword.

Honglan's Strengths And Weaknesses

Wuchang and Honglan standing across from each other in a pool of water in wuchang: fallen feathers.

This is what's scary about Honglan. She basically does not have any real weaknesses. While she is quite liable to being deflected because of the number of attacks she has in quick succession, that is also basically her only weak point, and you have to be capable of exploiting it yourself. If you do not have access to a Deflect, then you are functionally left with two options to fight her - constant dodg✅ing, or ranged Spells.

When it comes to her strengths, they are numerous. She can move incredibly fast, she can reposition at a moment's notice, and she can delay any of her attacks or end her combos early or extend them as she pleases. The only real benefit here is that she does have any particular defenses against any damage types🔥 either, so you can load her up with status effects like Burn and Corruption, too.

Commander - Honglan's Moveset

Honglan approaching Wuchang after their battle in wuchang fallen feathers.

Honglan is split across two phases, with the 🤡second forcing you to keep your distance from he꧒r much more. Here's a quick overview of her entire moveset:

  • Phase One

    Attack

    Description

    Counter

    Backhand Stab Dash

This is the move Honglan will open the fight with, and will perform when you are from a distance. She will grip her sword in a back-handed position and dash at you from any distance away. Deals high da𒆙mage and briefly knocks you back.

Dodging into this attack is the most effective, though it also has a fairly short hitbox, so dodging t the side will give you a bit more leeway. It d🅠oes have tracking though, so it is better to dodge than run.

    Martial Combo

If you are close to Honglan, she will start punching and kicking with her free hand. Thes🦩e attacks deal decent damage, but cannot be blocked or deflected.

This attack can be ended with either a sword slash,♛ or a foot slam, or may end after just t𓄧he punches.

As martial attacks cannot be blo❀cked or deflected, the most effective thing here is to dodge around Honglan. The attack also has a short range, so you can just keep your distance to avoid it.

    Dagger Throw

When Honglan wants to create distance, she can leap backwards and throw daggers at the ꧙same time. She can also throw these daggers and follow up with a Dash Slash to close the gap instead.

These daggers can be blocked and deflected as well as dodged, though they don't de🦹al too much damage. It's more important to keep your eyes on Honglan as she can very quickly follow-up the daggers with another attack.

    Flowing Combo

Honglan's regular attack combo, this features a series of sword slashes as she also dodges around🌱. These attacks can be delayed and also stopped at any time.

If you have it, it is very effective to deflect t💙hese attacks as it can disrupt Honglan's combo, giving you time to attack her. Clash also works to let you cuꦜt through her attack without being staggered and reducing the damage you take.

    Dash Slash

A simplified version of the Backhand Dash Slash, Hon꧙glan can dash across the field with a sword slash to get close to you. It deals much less damage than the former move, but she can also execute it more quickly.

Though this attack has a shorter charge up, it takes her longer to actually close the gap, giving you more time to both dodge or defle🌸ct.

  • Phase Two

    Attack

    Description

    Counter

    Wind Slash

While at a distance, Honglan will fire off multiple wind waves at you. These can free off at m𒆙ဣultiple different angles.

These can be dodged, but not deflected. Howeve🍬rജ, be careful using Spells to dodge these as the different angles mean they may still catch you in the air.

    Wind Dash Slash Combo

Honglan's regular Dash Slash and Flowing Combo get modified with ꦰextra wind effects, and can be extended to last longer.

The extra wind effects make these attacks harder to dodge into and deflect the regular strikes, so it is best to dodge away instead and fꦑollow🤡 up with a dash attack of your own.

    Charged Wind Waves

Honglan will stay in place for a few seconds as she charges up Wind Waves t🔯o strike you. Thi൩s may be just a single one, or multiple, and she can delay the length between waves.

It is best to 🌠dodge into these Wind Waves and move yourself closer to Honglan for follow up attacks.

    Wind After Effects

In general, Honglan will add Wind after effects to the vast majority of her attacks. These extend the range of her 𓄧attacks.

Like with other melee wind combos, it is best to try dodge away 𒁏or deflect them to cancel the attack entirely.

    Martial Wind Combo

As Honglan uses two swords in her second phase, she will no longerꦰ punch, but instead introduces more kicks to her combos.

With these attacks and the wind effects aroun𒀰d them, it is best to dodge a🔥way entirely.

Because of the wind effects she gains in her second phase, it can be incredibly helpful to have some ranged Spells to use against her so you can keep at a safe distance. 𝔍Deflect can still be incredibly useful if you time it well, however.

How To Beat Commander - Honglan

The Battle

When battling Honglan, it is important to try to stay somewhat close to her. She can strike at you from any distance, so it is better to try keep close so you can at least get in attacks of your own. Where you can, attempt to Deflect her attacks as this fully negates damage, and ꦺcan also stop the combo immediately if you've unlocked the right nodes in the Impetus Repository.

However, do not become too reliant on Deflecting, as Honglan can also use martial attacks, punches and kicks, that cannot be blocked or Deflected at all. As such, try to do a healthy amount of dodging to build 🐲up Skyborn Might as well.

What can be incredibly helpful when battling Honglan is the Alacrity node in the Impetus Repository. This allows you to dodge at the last second when casting certain Spells to fully negate damage and gain one Skyborn Might. This will often also give you distance from Honglan, mak✱ing it the best of both ♍worlds.

Keep in mind that even after dodging the initial strike, you can still take damage from any subsequent attacks during the animation

Another very helpful ability to have is one that every weapon can unlock, and that is to use a single Skyborn Might to instantly perform a Charged Heavy Attack. If you can get yourself behind Honglan, this is an amazing sဣtrategy to quickly break Honglaꦅn's stance.

In her second phase, relying on Deflection becomes harder, though Alacrity and the right spells can be even more useful.

The Rewards

After defeating Honglan (or at least beating this specific boss battle with her) you are returned to Reverent Temple, where you are given the Reverent Temple Key that opens the side gate. You are also given a new Benediction Rune, Wei - Combo Force, that increases 🐼your damage after successive attacks.

Unlike just about every other boss in the game, you are not given a new Spell after beating this boss, likely because she still lives. However, you ae now free to begin maki﷽ng your wayඣ to the oft-mentioned Cloudspire area.
