Therefore, Blood Elves investigating Shadow magic isn’t a wild concept, and there’s even evidence of them dabbling in such powers as early as thಞe first ♛WoW Expansion.

High Astromancer Solarian, one of the final bosses of the Tempest Keep raid, is a Blood Elf that channels Void magic.

The leading researcher of Void magic is Magister Umbric, but nowadays, his investigation is seen as dangero꧑us sin﷽ce Blood Elves mostly sustain themselves with magic from the Light.

Since Light and Void can’t coexist, Umbric and his assistants were exiled from Blood Elven society.

Alleria Windrunner, The First Void Elf

During her battles against the legion, Alleria ended up infected by the Void, but in time, she learned to harness its corrupting power and use it to great effect. Her introduction to the Void was slow, and she had an impressive mentor, Locus-Walker, which allowed her to master these Void powers.

Once Alleria returned to Azeroth, she was surprised to see her brethren, the Blood Elves, in liege with the Horde. She approached their leaders, looking to sway them into the Alliance, but to no avail; she did, however, learn of M✤agister Umbric during her visit.

Alleria went to find Umbric, and she made it just in time: during a ritual gone wrong, the Magister and his people summoned a corrupted creature from the Void. That creature was turning the Elves into Shadow monsters, but Alleria was able to slay the creature before their minds were completely gone.

However, the damage was done, and all the Elves present -including Umbric- were corrupted by the Shadows. Alleria helped them understand their current state, the maddening whispers they would forever hear and the powers that c🍸ome w🧜ith it.

Grateful to Alleria, Umbric and his people agreed to join the Alliance, not only t♔o repay the debt but because they saw their research being valued there.

Now, they strive to control their powers thanks to Alleria and Locus-Walker’s guidance, being a valuable asset to the Allied armies.

Void Elves Characteristics

Since they’ve been deeply affected by the Void, these Elves are extremely pale, with purple or blue glowing eyes and dark hair. Said hair can even🅰 en𒁃d in tendrils, similar to the ones present in the bodies of the Old Gods.

While Alleria is a Void Elf, she looks completely different from the rest, likely because the event that turned her into one is completely different from what happened to Umbric and his people.

You, however, can choose to look like a regular Blood/High Elf, so hiding their Voidish features might be something all 💎ꦜof them can learn.

Void Elves have plenty of Shadow-related powers, chief among them is their creation of portals.

The Alliance uses these portals for plenty of long-distance travel, and players even have access to a toned-down version of them, letting them bypass many dangerous situations.

Judging by their origin story, you’d expect Void Elves to be extremely few, but their use in-game suggests otherwise.

This suggests that new Void Elves are constantly being made,💎 likely from High Elves looking to strengthen the All⭕iance or Blood Elves looking for a way out from the Horde.
