Getting Started: The Smoldering Sprout
Anytime you interact with this NPC, be sure to be dismounted. The quests might ജnot work properly if you are mounted.
To start the quest chain, you must interact with the Smoldering Sprout, a red, budding flower located in the Emerald Dream zone. It can be found at the coordinates 48.6, 67.8, just south of the 'R' in Amirdrassil and to the right of the circular raised mass on t𝐆he map.
Simply interact with it twice—once to put out the flames and the next to clean it off—to make it the Sprout and offer the first quest, "Some Water..." This will lead you to the nearby NPC, Professor Ash, who you will be 🌱reporting to as you complete these quests.
A Mix Of Hope, Care, And Patience
After you finish the first quest, the next will be available in approximately five to six days, and this pattern will repeat with each quest done. The quꦆests will go as follows:
- "A Dash of Minerals..."
- "The Right Food..."
- "A Pinch of Magic"
- "A Little Hope is Never Without Worth"
"A Dash of Minerals..." will have you collecting five fish bones from Fathomless Lurkers, which are located in the w𓆏aters just left of the Eye of Ysera flight point. These have about a 22 percent drop chance, so don't expect to get them from every kill. The waters are pretty populated though, so finding enough shouldn't be a problem.
"The Right Food..." involves making a homemade fertilizer for the flower. However, this can be tricky when you don't know where to look. Below is a helpful table to๊ find the right ingredients:

Once you have created the fertilizer, do not place it, as it needs to sit, or 'compost', in your inventory for three days. After the three days have passed, you can go ahead and use it on the Sprout.
"And a Pinch of Magic" simply requires you to go to the highlighted area, drop the given totem, and kill the fire-corrupted Roottenders. These enemies can be found just left of the Anဣcient Bough on a pointed peninsula. Once there, you should be able to round up a few groups an﷽d fill the bar easily.
Finally, after a few more days, Professor Ash will offer "A Little Hope is Never Without Worth," giving you your Ochre Dreamtalon.
